herStay - parallelly represents ad-hoc wize, THE NORTHERN BUTOH AND BODY WEATHER LABORATORIES:

herStay workshops and lectures are teached exclusively in Monica Emilie Herstad´ spirit, inspired with the Butoh and Body Weather Laboratories Movement that Min Tanaka thoroughly teached her since she was accepted through his audition in 1993, for the Winter Olympics performance The dance of Life based on Edvard Munchs life.
As well as Monica Emilie Herstad is also educated as a sertified ballet teacher and contmemporary dancer, at the Norwegian Dance Academy, with further studies within improvisation and choreography at the R.I.D.C. in Paris, and then 7 years of dancing Butoh and body Weather as Min Tanaka´s dancer internationally, contributing as choreography assistant and casting-responsible, as well

Her teachings consists thereby of a basic structured - still sensitive way of presenting her understanding of the movement, with practising the skill of professional art and performance energies and content as one ultimate aim for the participants, listeners and viewers. The very quintessentials of herStay.
