/ To touch life or care for life? Is
there a difference? (Photo: In the light, herStay live, dancer and editor: Monica Emilie Herstad)
: Ideologically I am, seen totally, a passifist. Even so,
I like being thrown at walls in my performances and be very
physical in them, rather masochistic, perhaps. We may often
have to point out distress to be able to show what peace is.
We need to put things in a relief, dealing with visual art,
as I do.
/ You have shows in many cities across the world, in Los Angeles
and New York, Tokyo and London, you produce multimedia shows
and engage people who may each be strong artists; are you
never afraid?
: In a black and white worldview my philosophy and my faith
is that light is
winning. So I am rarely scared. If I have a problem I determine
to solve it. It is my motto. I feel that that's what the problems
are for, to be solved. Don't you? ********Oslo Kunsthall event 28.-29.June 2002, pictures: Lights - candle lights and blue-screen, direction, movement, choreography part 1 and 2, and her video The fetish is the observer: Monica Emilie Herstad, herStay 2002 Part 1, herStay presents The fetish is the observer Monica Emilie Herstad dance herStay video director: Monica Emilie Herstad video editor and camera assistant: Anette Haraldsen video stills: Monica Emilie Herstad Live music and performer in duet: Jon Rekdal
